Next week on   Sunday the 14th of September we celebrate one of the major feasts of our Church, the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Although it falls on a Sunday, it is a feast where the Church calls us to fast since it recalls the crucifixion of Christ. If for some legitimate reason you cannot fast on that day, you are truly encouraged to find another day during the week on which you fast. Many see this feast as a mini-Great and Good Friday since the entire focus is on the crucifixion. Again, do not think about it as being an obligation but, rather, and opportunity to truly profess your faith.
